Laying Foundations!

Our new house!

It has been an incredibly busy week. I have been out on patrol with my new section for a couple of days and also spent loads of time trying to find us somewhere to live before i fly to Wellington on 26th August. The weather has been great all week and it feels like English summer time. It's great!

We went over to Wahike island on Wednesday. It is a beautiful island just off the coast. Loads of rich people live there. It takes 45 minutes by ferry, but we went over on the police launch and did it in under 15 minutes with the mad driver!

A beach at Wahike Island

We had a bit of a drive around the West coast the other day. We went to a place called Piha. This is one of the best areas for surfing. It was very pretty and the beaches on the west coast have black sand, due to being volcanic.

Today i managed to sign up to a house in Pukekohe. It is about 40km south of Auckland city and is in a rural location. The house is still being built and has just about had the roof put on! It will not be ready until 15th October, which fits in perfectly for the date i finish at the college in Wellington. I will be picking up the keys on 20th October. It is a brand new 4 bedroom detatched house with double garage and en-siute master bedroom. I have looked around another house which is identical and they are stunning. All i need now is for our container of furniture to turn up on time!

I am flying to Wellington tommorow to complete and eight week course in Firearms, driving and law. Should be fun! Speak to you all soon. Keep in touch.
